Growing up in Hong Kong, pearl of the orient, Brian Yeung Lap-ming has been exposed to many cultures throughout his upbringing, from Sushi to British Top Talents and Tetris. And yet, after his stay in Europe and Southeast Asia for study and work, he realizes a lot of cultural perception and presentation in his home town are just myths and stereotypes. Exploring the real accent of a particular country and its culture becomes his agenda of traveling.
As a graduate of Sociology, Communication and English Literature, Brian is a true global citizen with academic and professional background in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore and the Netherlands. Brian is an amateur writer with several publications and invited presentations in both English and Chinese. He joins Maks Portal, a media company based in Sochi, since the summer of 2011 for his discovery of the heart of Russia and its people.
“Traveling enables me to discover the diversity of life choices,” he said, “after all, life is just the consequence of our many life choices; the one who is aware of its diversity is the luckiest person alive.”
